It turns out that the mall I went to my first night is actually a prime tourist destination, Galerias Pacifico, because it's a restored 1889 building. I went to the top floor this time, in a contemporary art space called Centro Cultural Borges. There were some pretty good exhibits, and I realized that art-speak is truly universal.
Here are some key phrases from the wall-text: "nuevo contexto," "tranformacion del espacio," "vision critica." Yup.
