Lockdown Day 56: Super tired...
I was up until 3:30am last night, and my Fitbit tells me I only got 3 hours of sleep. Too much work to do.
I didn’t really even have time for breakfast. I just had a bit of coffee; maybe 1/3 of a Starbucks VIA sachet.
Thankfully the PCR test happened on the earlier side, because starting from 11am I had more major meetings. Unfortunately it took a while today, because even though I was one of the first people in line, somehow they called another building to come down and tested them first, even though we were already in line.
For lunch, again I had the red lentil soup - garnished with both turnip green and carrot green! They make the bowl of soup look so pretty, the green setting against the red. I also made two slices of the buffalo chicken-spinach-artichoke mixture. And a simple salad of cucumber with oil and salt. The oil is from the tub of sun-dried tomatoes in my fridge. Since I’m starting to run low on oil, it’s time to re-use ingredients like the sun-dried tomato oil!.
I did the afternoon test as usual. Today there were especially a lot of complaints in my entryway WeChat group, with residents questioning the science behind taking two antigen tests everyday with PCR tests nearly every day, and the entryway leader simply saying that they’re following the Chinese CDC on this. It must be hard for building leaders at this time. The lowest of the hierarchy from national level to city to district to subdistrict to neighborhood juweihui above, these people not only have to face people questioning the nonsensical policies, but also be responsible for carrying these nonsensical policies, plus running up and down stairs at all hours of the day (after midnight and before 7:30 usually) taking pictures of residents’ antigen tests for those who don’t use WeChat I guess.
I then did the “espresso” workout of the day: just 13 minutes. For dinner, I made a kind of fusion 上海菜饭 Shanghaiese vegetable rice.
I cubed that red sausage to put on top of the rice…
…and separately, salt chopped baby bok choy, let sit for 5-10 minutes. Then squeeze that bok boy, and put the bright green water into the rice, and set to cook (that’s why the rice is kind of yellowish, above). Then after the rice is done, I stirred in the bok choy and then mixed it with the rice.
Special brand of antigen test; this means we’re going outside tomorrow for PCR tests.
