Roadtrip Roundup: Favorite day overall
Definitely the single day I look back at most fondly is the day we spent in Marfa, TX.
I already wrote about the sights and setting here, but in looking back, I think what made the day great was just meeting other people. Whether it was people who lived there for the time being: the furniture designer who knew all of the art world gossip in town, the New Yorker helping build a hip trailer and camping spot, the intern-tour guide at Chinati... Or the people who were passing through like us: an architect and an artist/craftsperson making a cross-country move like me, and taking a road trip along the way, and the real estate developer who could have made the most engaging art history professor! The people, coupled with the post-windstorm blue skies, zero traffic, and unhurried pace of life; that's what makes this my favorite day.
