Contender for cutest hotel - Taksiyarhis Pensiyon, Ayvalik
Definitely a contender for Cutest Hotel, Taksiyarhis Pensiyon is several cobblestone streets away from Ayvalik city center and up a hill. This position gives it commanding views over the laid back fishing village. Here's the view from the terrace, where I watched the sun set and had breakfast the next morning.
My roommate and I were assigned one of the nicest rooms I think, with great views of its own.
The room itself was a twin room, with one bed up on a loft (that was my bed!). We had to take off our shoes inside the pensiyon (pension), and padded around on the wood floors and colorful carpets. The decor itself was quite atmospheric, although an odd mixture of cultures. There were fez hats on the walls, as well as Hindu posters...
