Trip Report: AMS-ORD-DEN-SAN part 2
Connection in ORD was pretty straightforward, and I proceeded to plunk myself down at the Red Carpet Club closest to my gate. Maybe just crossing into the United States has this effect on people, but I just gorged myself on the array of snacks on offer. Cheese and crackers (cheddar and pepper jack, how I missed you!), cheese stick snack mix, and about six Pepperidge Farm cookies. The apple and carrot sticks helped make my plate healthier.
Since I was on award ticket, I had to connect twice. On my ORD-DEN flight, there was a choice of chicken or lasagna. I chose the chicken, which was in a pretty good onion sauce with a spicy polenta side, and carrots and soybeans, but overall it was quite salty.
Ahh, the views of the wide open spaces of the West.
Red Carpet Club in DEN was pretty quiet by the time I got there. Clean and pretty standard.
On the DEN-SAN late night flight (arriving past 11pm), there was a snack basket on offer with a choice of banana, Biscoff (which is the same speculaas as in the Netherlands), and potato chips. I chose the banana, being quite full from the ORD snacking and the meal on the last flight, and saved the Biscoff for my sister.
