Almond-Crusted Fish Sandwiches
Back in July (the 12th to be exact), I had a hankering for fish sandwiches, so I set out to make some.
Now, unfortunately my notes don’t specify, but I believe this was most likely the opah from the first delivery of fish from Haworth Fish, but there’s a possibility it could be mahi mahi from Costco.
These were coated in almond flour. And because they’d be baked and not fried, they had some colorful spices like paprika, because baking almond flour sometimes doesn’t yield the nice browning that frying does.
There was dill from the Yasukochi Family Farms CSA box, which was perfect for fish sandwiches, along with a tartar sauce.
Alongside, we prepared a salad, including lettuce, cucumbers from the garden, cherry tomatoes, red bell peppers, and pickled onion.
I served the fish sticks on homemade telera rolls. I’ve really loved this recipe from King Arthur Flour - it’s not that hard and doesn’t take very long to make. The sesame seeds on top were my touch!
These came out really nice, with the fish very flaky, with the herby dill and the tartar sauce marrying well.
