COVID-times Trip Report: CGK-SHA China Eastern Economy Class
Time to head back to Shanghai. I was quite impressed that Chongqing’s airport was so modern and huge.
It actually really felt huge, with very, very, very long walks from check-in to gate, and from gate to baggage claim. In that sense, it wasn’t impressive in a positive way.
Our flight back was operated by China Eastern on an Airbus A319. Flight departed at 3:30pm, arriving at 5:50pm. Actual flight time was 1 hour 50 minutes - much shorter going eastbound!
Since it wasn’t a meal time, a snack was served instead in this bag.
Inside the bag was a small bottle of water, some pastries in a box, and dessert: grass jelly and oat groats.
The pastries were quite interesting. There was a small roll with cucumber and a beef salami. The thing in the back was a small square of coconut cake. And then the most interesting part was this pastry cup with pork floss in it… and at the bottom was a kind of gel with a taste I couldn’t quite place. Was it lemon flavored? It was a rather strange mixture of meaty, sweet, and something fragrant or floral.
Deplaning in Shanghai was by air stairs followed by a packed bus to the terminal.
