Lockdown Day 8: Calm Day Bookended by Tests
21,000 new cases.
The day started off with an antigen test dropped off early in the morning. I wasn’t awake then, so the entryway leader put one on my door handle (it dropped when I opened the door of course). I sent my results to the group before 9.
Breakfast was some of my almond and coconut flour banana bread.
For lunch, I heated up rice and my mapo chickpeas in the Xiaomi pot, and also stir-fried some baby bok choy that I had washed the night before.
Some oranges after lunch…
It was a short work week due to the Qingming holiday 清明节 Monday and Tuesday, but still extremely intense. It felt like an occasion for pizza! I made an almond and coconut flour dough with 2 eggs, and topped with sundried tomatoes, olives, marinated artichokes, red bell peppers, red onions, mozzarella, and parmesan.
It was refreshing to each something that wasn’t Chinese! I think because I had been really trying to use my bok choy, and I can only think of Chinese or other Asian recipes with bok choy, I have been cooking and eating mainly Chinese food recently. This really hit the spot. Somehow Friday night seems like a good night for pizza.
The drink in the back of the picture is something I picked up as part of a set menu at a vegetarian restaurant quite a while ago. I’d never had it at home, because somehow I just mainly drink water at home. But because I haven’t found a way to buy new drinking water, and I’m getting to my last bottles of water, I’m starting to drink the other beverages I have in house! This particular one has no sugar added, and I must say it tasted quite medicinal!
Around 7:30pm, we got a message that we’d need to take another antigen test, not the same day, but tomorrow morning. Entryway representative distributed the kits this evening, and told us that we needed to report our results to the group chat tomorrow around 7, because she would be sending her report to the higher-ups by 7:30am. (And no, there is no scheduled sending feature in WeChat!) I waited until around 1am to take my test, and saved the picture of the result to send in the morning.
