Trip Report: Valencia Sala VIP Joan Olivert Lounge, Ryanair VLC-BRI, Train from BRI to Bari City
And it’s off to Bari!
The trip started in Valencia, where I visited the single lounge in the airport, Sala VIP Joan Olivert. It’s a Priority Pass Lounge, so I could get in even though I was flying Ryanair.
It seems to have been renovated since the last time I visited!
The food also seems a bit improved?
For breakfast, there was a selection of cold cuts, tortilla,…
…and some packaged sandwiches in the fridge.
I made a decent plate for myself.
Then it was time to board my Ryanair flight to Bari. It departed in the area where Iberia Regional/Air Nostrum regional jet flights usually leave from.
I paid for “Priority” which includes a cabin bag. You can see how the line for Priority is longer than the Non-Priority line. It’s quite clever on the part of Ryanair actually. They probably tie the sales of Priority boarding according to the capacity of cabin bags in the overhead bins, rather than artificially restricting Priority sales to make a shorter line for boarding.
I’m glad, even though the plane was parked a distance away, that we could still walk to the plane. Believe it or not, I’ve taken the bus a very short distance for those Iberia Regional flights. I really dislike the buses, because of the waiting to get everyone on the bus!
The usual Ryanair interior.
No seat back pockets, so the safety information is glued to the seat back in front of you.
Nice view of Albufera on departure.
Upon arrival in Bari, the way to the train station was very well marked, both by overhead signage as well as markings on the ground.
The train station is adjacent to the terminal.
I liked the patterns in this corridor.
Helpful people at the info desk helped me buy a ticket to the Bari city train station.
It’s quite a simple way to get into town, HOWEVER the train only leaves about once every 30 minutes. So if you happen to miss a train, it can be a while to wait. Buses didn’t seem to be more frequent, on the other hand.
