Hotel Breakfast Roundup: the rest
We were lucky enough to stay at a few other hotels that provided free breakfast, but I didn't rank these with the Mid Scale Limited Service hotels since I group these in different classes.
Best for dieting: Microtel Inn & Suites "Get Up & Joe" breakfast bar (Mobile, AL)
This was the most sparse, made even more sparse because by the time we got downstairs for breakfast a lot of items were gone and not replenished. But overall the Microtel in Mobile was clean and the people friendly.
Most gourmet and best overall: Homewood Suites "Suite Start" breakfast (Houston, TX)
I loved this breakfast - it really was most like a breakfast buffet one usually pays for. I already wrote about it in this post, with another day's breakfast.
Most place-specific:
Hilton free breakfast for having elite status (San Antonio, TX)
This Hilton overall gave GREAT amenities for having Gold HHonors status: free internet, discounted parking, and free breakfast. Since there were few guests at the time, they let us order off the full menu rather than relegate us to a continental breakfast bar. It was great to have a non-standard breakfast for a break. This picture is of my chilaquiles; the day before I had huevos rancheros. This hotel also had the best view - you could sit outside right on Riverwalk.
