McDecor: swish in Berlin
At Berlin Hauptbahnhof, I went to McDonald's for breakfast before getting on my train back to Eindhoven. This is a really pretty McDonald's with a lot of different zones. Here's a view of the shiny white communal tables. In the foreground you can see a cart with rails along the sides - at this McDonald's you don't dump your tray of trash into the garbage bin. You put your cup in a holder on top, and just slide your tray in.
Here's a view into the clubby McCafe atmosphere. If all airports had these, there wouldn't be any need for airline lounges anymore. The ambience is that nice.
I decided to try a breakfast unique to German McDonald's - the McMuffin Fresh Chicken. It's a toasted English muffin with a McChicken patty inside, mayo, lettuce, and tomato. Since I guess they don't really do hash browns anywhere in Europe, the breakfast meal was a bit skimpy for my appetite (just this sandwich and an orange juice). Tasty (how can the McChicken patty not be?), but I did end up buying a couple pastries later to eat on the train.
