McDecor: Self-Service Sustainability in France
The workshop I attended went to the McDonald's that one of the workshop assistants worked at. I learned that this McDonald's uses produce sourced from the local area. It had a beautiful, modern interior, that seems to be pretty standard in Europe.
This one had self-service kiosks where you pay with a credit or debit card. You click on the pictures to select your menu items. It's interesting that this system doesn't have a built-in upsell algorithm.
I got seasoned potato wedges, one of my favorite indulgences, and not something that's offered in the US. I also got what's called "Le 280 sauce au poivre," which is their 280 burger with pepper sauce. It came on a ciabatta-like bun, with cheddar, Emmental cheese, tomato, and rather runny creamy pepper sauce. Also a bottle of Evian, the water that is served in these French McDonald's!
