First Impressions: Warsaw and More Bubble Tea
Warsaw! Before coming to Poland, I watched Krzysztof Kieślowski's Dekalog (Decalogue) series, and was expecting a city of concrete apartment blocks. So I was quite delighted to see the concrete apartment blocks out my hotel window the first night!
The next morning, I walked into the tourist district. It took a good deal of time as my hotel is further away from this area, but I enjoyed the walk as I was able to pass by the Palace of Culture and Science, a "gift" from the Soviets.
As well as a modern shopping center. Yes, TK Maxx! Apparently when TJ Maxx's parent company opened the first store in UK, it changed the name to avoid confusion with another store with TJ in the name. So now the stores in UK, Ireland, Germany, and Poland are called TK Maxx.
But what really caught my eye were the plethora of bubble tea stores along the way! This one had an interesting "chemistry set" themed front window.
Another bubble tea store.
And this is one combination I never would have imagined: bubble tea and Mexican burritos in one!
