Berlin Cityscapes
One of my favorite aspects about Berlin were the tremendously different landscapes all contained in this one city.
Around the Hauptbahnhof and Reichstag, you have a big sense of space with all of the government buildings.
In Mitte you have more intimate spaces, with lots of new high-end developments blending in with the old.
Potsdamer Platz is a totally new mixed-use development, taking the place of an old square which the Berlin Wall ran through.
There are a lot of grand "old European" buildings, like this one on the shopping street Ku'damm in the west.
Blocky Communist-era buildings in the East.
Gritty landscapes, too (this one in Kreuzberg).
