Trip Report: SFO-EWR-ZRH-VLC part II
The EWR-ZRH flight arrived in the E gate area, and connecting passengers all went through security again. Then I went onto an underground tram to the main terminal with the A gates, where the Swiss lounges were. After visiting the Swiss Business lounge, it was time to board my final leg to Valencia, Spain. Boarding was a self-boarding system with gates that open in front of you (like in some subway stations). I guess it's faster this way, even though there were still two gate agents, since there are two lanes that process passengers at once.
The Swiss flight was on an Airbus A320. Seemed very new, as the TV screens were actually quite clear and uniform in color!
We were served a "pizza" as the flight attendant called them, or a "Bruschetta Ratatouille Tomato" as the box called it.
I read the ingredients on the box and the thing was surprisingly rather wholesome, but it was quite salty for me.
We had great views of the alps, flying southwest over Switzerland and France to Spain.
Later, a flight attendant came around with a basket full of Swiss-branded Swiss chocolates. A nice touch! I guess since the logo slightly shifted from the two squares to the tailfin, the design of the chocolate had to change as well (here is a picture of the chocolate from the last time I flew Swiss, three years ago...on my last trip to Spain!).
