Sevilla Eats: Bodega Santa Cruz
After a couple hours of touring in the morning, I headed over to this tapas bar, Bodega Santa Cruz, aka Las Columnas.
Here I had my first typical Sevilla tapa, a serranito. With pork, jamón, pepper and tomato, it was a bit dry. Then I noticed on the napkins, it says "Especialidad en pringá, buñuelos de bacalao." They were specialists in the typical Sevilla tapa, the pringá, as well as cod fritters!
So I ordered a pringá - braised pork and chorizo and morcilla (blood sausage). Now this was nice! I saw them scooping out spoonful after spoonful of the filling onto bread in the kitchen.
Las Columnas appears on many "Sevilla tapas" lists, so you're sure to see a bunch of tourists here. But it's well worth a stop, and is convenient to the Alcazar and Cathedral.
