Sevilla Eats: Las Golondrinas
Across the river in the Triana neighborhood, I had one of my best meals of my Sevilla trip, at a tapas bar called Las Golondrinas.
Here their star tapa is the punta de solomillo, sirloin tip. SO tender! And nicely salted.
The mushrooms with aioli was also quite nice.
Someone had recommended the caballito de jamón, which was like the punta de solomillo but with some crunchy jamón on top. This turned out to be a bit salty for me.
Some cheese...
Lots of people were ordering the chipirones, which were indeed very fresh and had just the right texture.
We couldn't resist but order seconds of the punta de solomillo!
Las Golondrinas is a cute, and very tiny place. There really isn't a system for getting a spot at the bar - just muscle your way through when you see a spot. A couple of women nabbed a space at the bar that my roommate and I had been eyeing - thankfully my roommate sweet talked our way into sharing the space! We ended up chatting throughout our meal, with the women giving us tips on what to order and even sharing their cheese with us.
Here's a view of the bar and kitchen. There's also a Las Golondrinas 2 nearby, which looked more modern and larger. Not sure about the food quality, but the atmosphere here at the original location certainly can't be beat!
And the menu for you to peruse. You can see how reasonably priced all of the tapas are! Las Golondrinas means "swallows," hence all of the birds on the menu.
