Trip Report: SFO-ORD
I spent Christmas and New Year's in San Diego, but I still had the first two weeks of 2012 to myself before school and work started. That, plus the fact that United is having a Double Elite Qualifying Mile promotion on flights SFO/LAX/SNA-ORD and the fact that I haven't seen a friend in Toronto for three years, meant that I decided to take a week long vacation to Canada.
The flight to ORD was full in both classes, and it was nice to get an upgrade to First. The warm nuts were very welcome as I was quite hungry when they came around. The flight attendant was fancy and used a stirrer to stick through the lemon. It has the Continental globe on it - whenever I see that globe in the blue square, I still think "Continental."
Lunch was a choice of "turkey cobb salad" or "warm turkey and cheese sandwich." I chose the salad, which had napa cabbage, turkey cubes, cheese cubes, cherry tomatoes, chickpeas, and walnuts. I did use a bit of one of the Caesar salad dressing containers. A package of 6 grissini breadsticks came with the salad, as well as a very hot tomato bisque which was delicious. The salad itself was okay; it was a bit of a random assortment of flavors.
Dessert was a warm chocolate chip cookie which was served in a brown paper (parchment paper?) sleeve.
