Trip Report SFO-FRA
Though this was a flight on an un-reconfigured United Boeing 777, the service was excellent and attentive. This was also my first time experiencing post-merger "BusinessFirst" which is the name of business class even with the old business seats like on this plane.
The new glasses hold a lot less liquid. Hot nuts are here to stay.
The menu didn't describe the appetizer; turned out to be smoked salmon wrapped around another piece of smoked fish that was quite a hard cube. Salad is on a bigger plate, but I wish there were more dressing options than two creamy dressings. We only had a choice of ranch or Caesar.
Main course was a large pork chop with bone in, a bit dry but it had a nice green peppercorn sauce. I was craving green veggies which is partly why I chose this meal. Broccolini and green asparagus were overcooked but welcome. And the shiitake bread pudding was great.
Cheese is a separate course now, pre-plated on 3-class aircraft.
Ice cream sundae is the new standard dessert. I got mine with caramel and whipped cream and nuts.
I got a decent turkey and cheese wrap with the juiciest orange for midflight snack.
I guess because this was a long flight, we got three options for breakfast. I chose the herbed scrambled eggs option; wonder how it becomes a disk shape. The cinnamon roll was nice, although the fruit was not as good as United's old caterer. These were cubes and still partly frozen when I ate them.
