Granada Eats: Bodega Casteñada
I tried coming to Bodega Casteñada earlier at lunch time, but it was so crowded I really felt uncomfortable eating there as a solo diner. I ended up going back after I descended from Albayzin. It was quite empty, with just a few other tourists around!
I ordered a beer, Alhambra brand, and I had forgotten that my coworker told me about the free tapas in Granada. In Granada, it's customary that when you order a drink, you get free tapas! So after I got my beer, out came a plate of tortilla de patatas, bread, and olives.
Then I saw this collection of barrels, and decided I would try one of these house wines. I asked the bartender for a recommendation, he asked if I wanted sweet or not sweet, I said not sweet, and so I got a sample of Jerez Oro to taste.
I thought it was fine so I got a whole glass. I ended up not finishing it since it was quite strong, but I did get another free tapas plate! This time it was olives, with ham and cheese on bread. Altogether my bill was €3.70!
